Dr. Thomas N. Tucker entered into heavenly rest on June 6, 2024 with his loving wife Joan by his side. He just celebrated his 93rd birthday with his children and grandchildren this past weekend. He was a longtime resident of Middletown.
He was devoted not only to his family but to his many patients. He converted a 200 year old barn into his dental practice on Kings Highway East in Middletown.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 1st, 1931. Tom attend the University of San Diego, UCLA and Loyola University of Chicago Dental School. In between his schooling he worked for the Douglas Aircraft Company on its Nike Missile program. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served with distinction as a medic and was eventually stationed at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, New Jersey. It was there he met a nurse - Joan Gaffney who would become his lifelong love.
Tom was a private pilot and member of the Jersey Aero Club at the Lakewood Airport.
He is survived by his wife Joan; his daughters, Susan Jenkins, Cathy Guba, and Maureen O'Malley; and his sons, John Tucker and Christopher Tucker. He was predeceased by his son Michael who was killed in the September 11th terror attacks.
The Pfleger Funeral Home of Middletown is in charge of arrangements.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes RC Church in Atlantic Highlands on Tuesday June 11that 10:00 am.
He will be interred afterwards at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown NJ in a private graveside ceremony.
