Thomas Marion Van Deman, 86, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at home.

Thomas was born March 1, 1935, to Robert and Maggie Van Deman in Palestine, Texas. He lived in Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Colorado, and then planted his roots here in Louisiana.

He attended Baylor University where he received a Bachelors Degree and afterwards went to Louisiana Baptist University to receive his Masters Degree for education. After retirement he continued to teach art.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Maggie Van Deman, child; Tim Van Damen, grandchildren; Cameron Bryce Ragland and Kimberlee Grace Van Deman, great-grandchild; Harper Eloise Jones, sister; Annette Scott and sister-in-law; Lockie Faye Van Deman.

Tom is survived by his loving wife; Brenda Van Deman, children; Thomas David Van Deman and Rebekah Ann Valeros, brother; Larry Van Deman, numerous nieces and nephews, 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and many more who called him grandpa.

Celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 11:00am at Forest Park Funeral Home.
