Thomas Vesely Obituary

Thomas Vesely
Born: August 16, 1965
Died: September 10, 2025 in Crystal Lake, IL
Thomas Louis Vesely, lovingly known as "Tommy Guns" and "Tommy Boy," passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at McHenry Hospital, with his oldest son Billy holding his hand. He was 60 years old.
Thomas was born on August 16, 1965, in McHenry County, Illinois, to Carol Hoyt and George Vesely. The sixth of seven children, he grew up surrounded by a big, close-knit family. He was preceded in death by his parents and four of his siblings - George, John, James, and his beloved sister Connie, who passed away just three days before him. Their passing together is a touching reminder of the deep bond they shared. Thomas is survived by his brother Jeffrey and sister Cherri.
Thomas shared many wonderful years with his high school sweetheart, Jill Lemke. Together they raised two children, William Thomas Lemke-Vesely and Chanel Catherine Schafer, and a stepson, Benjamin Andrew Lemke. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Elijah Bellamy Johnson, Mathias William Schafer, and Juniper Elise Schafer - his "little crew," who brought him endless joy.
A man of many trades, Thomas spent years working in the union before building a career as a roofer, carpenter, and flooring installer. He was hardworking, talented, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Outside of work, Thomas found joy in the simple things - ice fishing on a cold day, snowmobiling through fresh snow, flying his drone, or cooking and barbecuing for his family while good music played in the background. He loved bringing people together and had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for.
Thomas will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His laughter, generosity, and strong spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
