Thomas A. "Tom" Wampler

Thomas A. "Tom" Wampler, 98, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday December 12, 2023 in his residence. He was born April 8, 1925 in Terre Haute to Buel T. and Odessa (Hughes) Wampler. Tom is survived by his daughters, Lissa Milligan (John) and Laurie Waddell (Michael); grandchildren, Scott Manning (Kristen), Ryan Manning (Meghan-deceased), April Hunt (Greg), Andrea Wiegand (JD), Maggie Karpinski (Darrell), and Seth Waddell; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Martha (Thompson) Wampler, who died August 6, 2023; sisters, Betty Walsh and Margaret Von Tress; brothers, James Wampler, Joseph Wampler, and Roland Wampler and a grandson, Jared Waddell. Tom was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II. The family would like to give a special thanks to the amazing staff and residents at Silver Birch and his "Main Stay" and also a thanks to the staff of Southern Care Hospice. Visitation will be Sunday December 17, 2023 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home.
