Funeral services for Thomas Lee Wright, 87, of Gilmer, Texas will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment to follow at Kelsey Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, at McWhorter Funeral Home.
Thomas was born on March 31, 1937, in Olney, Texas and passed from this life on February 6, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Thomas proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He married Patricia Ann Payne on April 21, 1961, in Decatur, Texas. Thomas was a Directional Driller in the oilfield from 1961-2010 before his retirement.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patricia Wright; children, Steven Ray Wright (Ruth), Eric Wright (Keila), Tommy Wright (Jenni), Valinda Ann Sparks (Wes), Brenda Davis, Lindsey Martin (Brad), and Rebecca Johnson (Hayden); brother, James Wright (Mary); sister, Leona Hogan; grandchildren, Thomas Levar Wright, Brandon Wright, Jordan Wright, Summer Wright, Cameron Wright, Carson Wright, Maggie Adams, Tim Wright, Dylan Miller, Kyndal Ivy, Railey Miller, Lindsey Martin, and Rebecca Johnson; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Wright; granddaughter, Stefanie Wright; and his grandson, Preston Wright.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wright, Eric Wright, Tommy Wright, Brad Martin, Hayden Johnson, and Dylan Miller.
