Thongma Todd

Thongma O. Todd, age 74, of Bloomsbury, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 2, 2025, surrounded by the deep love of her family.
Born on October 12, 1951, in Udorn, Thailand, Thongma was the cherished daughter of Ping and Ping Onnom. She moved to the United States in the 1970s, building a new life filled with family, faith, and food made from the heart. She proudly became a U.S. citizen on April 3, 1987.
Thongma was the firm, loving matriarch of her family; deeply principled, fiercely protective, and full of heart. Her warmth was felt most deeply in the kitchen, where she shared her love through delicious home cooked meals, Thai dishes, and sweets that offered instant comfort. A gifted gardener, she made green thumbs greener with envy. She routinely out fished the most experienced fishermen with a simple worm on a hook and often enjoyed playing a game of cards with friends and family. She was the consummate rules authority and passionate about doing things the right way, which lead to the family moniker, "It's the Thai way or the Highway!" Her nurturing spirit extended to everyone around her, and she created a home full of tradition, quiet generosity, and endless laughter.
In addition to her years spent in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries at Unisys, Johnson n' Johnson, B Braun medical, Precision Graphics, and Glen Magnetics, she was a devoted member of the Mongkoltepmunee Thai Temple in Bensalem, PA, and an active member of the Thai Association of Northeast Pennsylvania, where she nurtured strong cultural ties and deep community friendships. Her dedicated work ethic earned her much recognition and accolades, including perfect attendance for multiple successive years and her positive attitude both in the workplace and in the community was radiant, humble, and selfless.
Above all else, Thongma treasured her time with her grandchildren, who lit up her world. Her legacy is woven through the love she gave her family which was always present, always unconditional.
Thongma is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Ronald Todd; her children, Soonthou (Jutharat) Khamperngjai, Pornchai (Netrchonnee) Khampoenghai, Pitsamai (Kevin) Grelle, Paisant Kumperngsai, and Robert (Kristen) Todd; her twelve beloved grandchildren; and her sister, Sunee Boonchou. She was preceded in death by her dear son, Manoon (Noon) Khamperngjai.
A Memorial Service for Thongma will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:am at Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church; 17 Greenwich Church Road; Stewartsville, NJ 08886 and a Celebration of Life at the Mongkoltepmunee Thai Temple; 3304 Knights Road; Bensalem, PA 19020 on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 10:00am.
Her love will live on in every Thai dish passed down, every flower planted in her honor, and every memory shared by those fortunate enough to have been loved by her.
