Thuan Tran, 99, died Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his residence in Sioux City, IA.
A visitation will be 10:30 am to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, 2320 Outer Drive North. Visitation will resume 9:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Christy-Smith, Larkin, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Thuan Tran, the son of Thuy Tran and Nga Quach was born October 15, 1925, in Shantou, China. At the age of 14, he moved to Vietnam.
In 1959, Thuan was united in marriage with Giac Huynh in Vietnam. He was a small business owner and operator of a rice business. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1987, and Thuan worked at Tyson Foods, retiring in 2008.
Thuan enjoyed gardening.
Thuan is survived by his wife, Giac Huynh; sons, Phong (Sandra) Tran of Sioux City, Tuyen (Kim) Tran of Jefferson, Harvey (Dung Duong) Tran of Sioux City, daughter, Hanh (Phuc Le) Tran of Sioux City, and son, Hy (Huy Vo) Tran of Chicago, IL; daughter-in-law, Dung Banh of Atlanta, GA; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and youngest son, Ky Tran.
