Tia Sofikitis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jansen Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jun. 29, 2023.
Tia Jay Sofikitis, a loving mother, sister, and daughter, passed unexpectedly on June 28, 2023, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on February 8, 1999, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Tia brought joy and light into the world with her kindness and adventurous spirit.
Tia was the beloved daughter of Laura (Ryan) O'Connor and Zachary Sofikitis. Her close-knit family also includes her cherished siblings, Jai-Ceri Sofikitis, Elizac Taylor, and Miya Jackson. Tia's infectious laugh and kind heart left a lasting impression on her family, and she was a pillar of strength and love for them.
Tia was a proud mother to her three beautiful children, Jaxon, Xayne, and Van-Katia. Her children were her world, and she devoted her life to providing them with love, care, and happiness. She often said that her greatest achievement was being a mother, and her children will forever carry her love and teachings with them.
Tia was a 2017 graduate of Imlay City High School. She had spent two and a half years working at the Blind Fish Restaurant in Lapeer. Her dedication and hard work were admired by her co-workers, and she often brought joy to her work environment with her vibrant personality and infectious laughter.
Tia had a passion for cosmetology, often experimenting with new styles and techniques. She loved the transformative power of makeup and hair styling, and she often used her skills to help her friends and family feel beautiful and confident. Dancing was another one of Tia's passions. She loved the freedom and expression that came with movement, often losing herself in the rhythm of the music.
Tia was also a lover of nature. She enjoyed relaxing on the beach, where she would often spend hours basking in the sun and playing in the sand with her children. She loved the tranquility and peace that came with being near the water, and she often said that the beach was her happy place.
Above all else, Tia loved spending time with her family. Whether it was a simple family dinner, a day at the beach, or a dance party in the living room, Tia cherished these moments the most. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she often went above and beyond to ensure their happiness.
Tia was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her. She was loving, kind, and adventurous, always ready for a new journey or experience. Her spirit was infectious, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel special and loved. She was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Tia Jay Sofikitis will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love for her family, and her unwavering kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and adventure, and she will always be remembered for her beautiful spirit.
