Tiburcio Quintanilla Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rivera Funeral Home - Mission on Nov. 22, 2024.
Tiburcio "Pilo" Quintanilla Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, in Laredo, TX. Born on September 11, 1957, in McAllen, TX, Pilo's warmth and generosity touched all who knew him throughout his 67 years of life.
Pilo was a man whose love for his family knew no bounds. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Tiburcio and Maria D. Quintanilla; his sister, Alicia Quintanilla; his brothers, Manuel, Raul, and Abel Quintanilla; and his treasured daughter, Victoria Quintanilla. His memory will be carried on by his devoted wife, Dora M. Quintanilla, and his loving children, Marc, Alexandra, Vanessa, and Mycheal Quintanilla. His joyous spirit will live on through his grandchildren, Oakland Sanchez and Victoria Quintanilla.
He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Rosa M. (Martin) Jaques, Graciela (Abelardo) Pena, Celia (Manuel) Medrano, Lydia (Raul) Serna, Irma Vargas, Gloria Quintanilla, and Maria Isabel (Cesar) Cano. His brothers, Jose Santos (Lydia) Quintanilla, Hector (Leticia) Quintanilla, Oscar Quintanilla (Maria Lily Moncivais), Sergio Quintanilla, and Cruz (Lucero) Quintanilla, will remember him fondly. A host of nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends also survive him, each carrying a piece of his loving spirit.
Pilo was a man of many passions, with a particular love for football, always cheering on his favorite team, the Cowboys. He found great joy in dancing with his wife, Dora, and their bond was a testament to true partnership and mutual adoration. Family gatherings were the highlight of his life, where he would revel in the company of his loved ones, sharing stories and laughter. His love for going out to dinner was matched only by his enjoyment of spending quality time with his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Those who knew Pilo would describe him as loving, kind, and generous. He had a heart that never hesitated to give and a smile that could light up a room. His presence brought comfort and happiness to those around him, and his absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.
Pilo's life was a beautiful tapestry of the love he shared and the lives he touched. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take solace in the legacy he leaves behind-a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
As we lay Tiburcio "Pilo" Quintanilla Jr. to rest, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. We will carry his spirit in our hearts and remember the joy he brought into our lives. His laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering love will be cherished forever.
A visitation will be held to honor Pilo's life, followed by a service that will bring together family and friends to share in the remembrance of a life that, while no longer present in body, will forever be present in spirit. The details of the services will be Sunday Nov. 24, 2024, 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm Visitation and 6:30 pm Rosary Services at Rivera Funeral Home: 1813 N. Conway Ave Mission, TX 78572 and Monday Nov. 25, 2024, 11 am - 12:30 pm Visitation and 1 pm Interment Burial at Valley Memorial Gardens: 3601-3611 N. Taylor Rd. Mission, TX 78572.
In the quiet moments when we find ourselves missing him, let us find comfort in the memories we shared, the lessons he taught us, and the love he so freely gave. Pilo's journey on earth may have ended, but his story will continue to be told through the lives of those he loved. Rest in peace, Tiburcio "Pilo" Quintanilla Jr., until we meet again.
