Mr. Tim Scott Campbell, Sr., 77, of Metter passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born in 1948 in Denver, Colorado, and grew up in Swainsboro, Georgia, where he spent his childhood alongside his brother, Tex. Mr. Campbell was a 1966 graduate of Swainsboro High School. In 1968, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam during the late 1960s, and his service to his country remained a source of quiet pride throughout his life. After returning home from Vietnam, he married the love of his life, Donna. Together they made their home in Twin City, Georgia, where they were blessed with three children. Tim and Donna shared 55 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family, and commitment. Mr. Campbell was a devoted member of Twin City First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon for many years. He was known as a steady presence, dependable, compassionate, and always willing to lend a hand. A tinkerer at heart, Tim enjoyed fixing things and figuring out how they worked. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing at Clarks Hill. He appreciated simple pleasures: time with family and friends, good conversation, and the quiet satisfaction of a job well done.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tex Gary Campbell; grandson, Jackson Scott Hodgin.
Tim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna D. Campbell of Metter; sons, Scott Campbell of North Augusta, South Carolina, Brian Campbell of Atlanta; daughter, Mary Beth Hodgin of Statesboro; grandchildren, Asher Campbell Hodgin, Tessa Reese Hodgin, David Brian Campbell, Jr. and other family members.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2025, at Coleman Cemetery in Twin City with Dr. Stewart Moody officiating.
