Tim F. “Tank” Evans, 66, of Washington passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Washington County Hospital, following a sudden illness. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 1 – 4 PM at the Washington Golf and Country Club. A general memorial fund has been established. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Tim Franklin Evans was born July 19, 1958, in Washington, IA, the son of Paul and Alberta (Godfrey) Evans. He graduated from Washington High School and studied auto mechanics at Kirkwood Community College. On September 24, 1977, he was united in marriage to Michal Ann Yuska in Tama, IA. Tim worked at Modine Manufacturing for 39 years, and most recently worked as a groundskeeper at the Riverside Casino until his retirement in 2020. He enjoyed restoring trucks, woodcarving, fishing and hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Michal of Washington; three children: Tara (Nate) Roberts of North Carolina; Tyler (Kara) Evans of Washington; Tenia (Travis) Fogle of Washington, six grandchildren: Colton, Carson, Casen, Clayton, Cora, and Camden; brother Paul “Butch” Evans of Washington; sister Carol (Dave) Greiner of Washington; brother-in-law Jim Coon of Washington; father-in-law Clarence Yuska of Tama, IA; two sisters-in-law: Lisa Rohach of Toledo, IA, Merri (Jeff) Blocker of Waukee, IA, and brother-in-law Scott (Kellie) Yuska of Urbandale, IA.
Preceding Tim in death were his parents, his infant daughter Krista, sister Mary Coon, sister-in-law Sharon Evans and mother-in-law Sharon Yuska.
