Robert Timothy "Timmy" Gummer, Sr., 76, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital.

He was born August 2, 1949, in Wheeling, a son of the late Wilburt Ernest and Bernice Alicia (Walters) Gummer. Timmy was a U.S. Army Reserve Veteran and retired from Blaw-Knox after many years of service as a crane operator. He was a Christian by faith and truly loved and believed in the Lord. Timmy will be remembered for his kindness, gentle humor and his dedication to hard work. Throughout his life, his quiet strength and resilience helped him to navigate life in the hardest of times, and left behind a lasting impression on those he knew. He enjoyed going on walks throughout Ogelbay and always enjoyed being a part of the community and attended numerous festivals throughout the years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wilburt Eugene Gummer, Sr. and his sister, Patricia Crutchfield.

He is survived by his significant other, Sheila Lipscomb whom he shared his life with for over 20 years; children, Natalie Ferrie, Robert Gummer Jr., Tinetta (Michael) Serdinak, Jasmine (David) Cyrankowski and Jayvonne Gummer; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
