McCombs Funeral Home Inc. - JacksonTimothy M. Ackman, 81, of Jackson, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at his home.
He was born January 23, 1944, in Tacoma, Washington, to A.P. and Laurel (Hickman) Ackman. He and Diana “Sue” Lawson were married October 2, 1982. They had been married 27 years when Sue passed away January 28, 2010.
Tim was a graduate of Hematite (Missouri) High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from June 25, 1962 to June 25, 1965.
Tim owned and operated the Liberty Motel in Crystal City, but the career he learned to love was long-haul truck driving.
Tim enjoyed woodworking, vehicle restoration, and spending time with his dog, Lucky. Together, he and Sue were charter members of the Gold Wing Road Riders, where they traveled with fellow bikers. They also liked to camp and travel throughout the USA.
Loving survivors include siblings, Matt Ackman of Festus, Missouri; Steve Ackman of Bloomsdale, Missouri; Becky (Brian) Watson of Herculaneum, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Nancy (late Leonard) Ackman of Festus; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a brother, Leonard Ackman.
Memorial visitation is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Fred Burgard will conduct a memorial service at 12 p.m., followed by military honors. Interment is at 3 p.m., Friday, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington, Missouri.
If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggest the Veterans Home Foundation c/o the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
