Timothy Albright Obituary
ATHENS - Timothy Albright passed away on December 14, 2022, after a brief illness.
Tim was a lifelong resident of Athens, N.Y. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Conine Albright. He is survived by his children, their spouses, and grandchildren: Nancy and Lee Palmateer (Ben, Elliott and Samuel); Leslie Albright and Dan Kohler (Marion); Timothy Albright Jr.; and his companion and friend, Susan Molineux. The family will be forever grateful for her unending devotion. Tim was predeceased by his mother and father, Ruth and William Albright, and stepfather Leonard Hotaling. He is also survived by his brothers, Harry (Sueann) and Bill (Bitta); brother-in-law, Charles Conine, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tim graduated from Coxsackie-Athens High School and received degrees in applied sciences from Cobleskill College and Agronomy from Cornell University and a master's degree in elementary education from the College of Saint Rose. He taught fifth grade for 35 years, first at Coxsackie Elementary School, then at Grandview Elementary School in Catskill.
Tim was an active member of the Athens Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years, serving as president, vice president, treasurer, and photographer, and as the Athens Village trustee in the 1970s. He was on the consistory of and member of the First Dutch Reformed Church and also served on their cemetery board.
Family and friends may call at Richards Funeral Home of the Mid-Hudson Valley, Inc., 28 North Vernon St., Athens on Wednesday, December 21, from 1 - 6 p.m. The Athens Fire Department will hold services in his memory at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home the same day. Funeral services will be held in the First Dutch Reformed Church, 18 North Church St., Athens, on Thursday, December 22, at 11 a.m. The day of the funeral, everyone is asked to meet at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Timothy's memory may be made to The First Dutch Reformed Church, 18 North Church St., Athens, NY, 12015, or to The Athens Fire Department, 39 Third St., Athens, NY, 12015.

Mr. Albright was my 5th grade reading teacher at Grandview Elementary School. I still remember his sense of humor and kindness. I later became a teacher myself and still work in the education field. I was sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family. May he Rest In Peace.

I met Tim many years ago at the Catskill Alzheimer's group when he was taking care of his then wife Elizabeth. Tim was and still is a beautiful person and miss him dearly. We hit it off right from the beginning and it was a wonderful ongoing experience for 10 years God rest his soul

Tim Albright was our first friend when we came to town in 2017. He was so kind and welcoming to Lois and I, always available to offer a helping hand. We feel very fortunate to have met him and will always remember him fondly. A truly good man who gave more than he took from the world. His love and commitment to his family and community was immense.

Mr. Albright was my 5th grade teacher back in 1995. He was always my favorite teacher because he was very nice to me when my father passed away that year. He was always so thoughtful and compassionate and helped me with school work when I was consumed with grief. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.

Mr. Albright was my son's and my daughter's fifth grade teacher. He was a blessing to us all. I was comforted on 9/11 to know that he was with my daughter, when l was at work. He was an excellent, compassionate educator, with a great sense of humor. I will always remember the end first parent teacher conference for my daughter: After going over her report card, he opened his grade book to a back page. There he had written her name, and her bf's name, with the note, "A+ for chatting." Thank you, Mr. Albright for helping me raise up my children. Our world was made better by your presence, love, and devotion to children.
