Timothy Lee Baker, 74, of Sandusky, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Tim was born in Bellevue, July 17, 1951, to the late Garald and Arlene (Weller) Baker. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1969. After high school, Tim served in the Army National Guard.
Tim was co-owner of Al and Tim's Foodland for a brief period before joining Whirlpool Corporation. While working at Whirlpool, he earned a bachelor's degree from Tiffin University and retired as an assembly engineer.
Tim was an avid golfer and bowler for many years until his leg amputation in 2019. He enjoyed landscaping for himself and others. Tim also had a wonderful collection of model trains, which he displayed in his basement for several years. He was a passionate supporter of Ohio State Buckeyes and a devoted Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan.
Tim is survived by his sister, Vicki (Ron) Newsom of Clyde; his brother, Todd (Tammy) Baker of Clyde; nieces, Charity (Jerry) Castle of Clyde and Shelby Baker of Albany, Oregon; nephews, Adam (Christine) Newsom and Riley Baker of Clyde; great-niece, Emma Castle; and great-nephew, Chase Castle.
Family and friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2025, at Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 218 S Main St., Clyde. Burial will be private at Bakertown Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org) or a charity of the donor's choice.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Tim Baker.
Tim was truly a man of presence, known for his incredibly kind and sweet nature. He made a significant impact on my career, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity he gave me to pursue a role beyond what I was currently doing. His faith and trust in me meant the world.
To his family and friends, please accept my sincerest sympathy during this time of sadness. May the many wonderful memories you made together bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
