Timothy "Tim" Batterson

Timothy W. "Tim" Batterson, age 65, passed away Saturday morning, July 16, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on September 16, 1956 the son of Jesse and Vi (Saxman) Batterson. Tim graduated from Pennfield High School with the Class of 1975 and has worked at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek for more than 20 years. Tim married the "Love of His Life", Linda A. Bales in Battle Creek on December 22, 1978; she survives. He is also survived by his sons, Thomas and Bill (Amanda) Batterson; his grandchildren, Cody, Elliott, Gracie, Owen, and Judah; and several nieces & nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his dogs, Midnight, Lei & Trouble; his sister, Charlotte Hammond; and two brothers, Ed and Todd Batterson. Tim loved to be outdoors, mowing & working in his yard. He also enjoyed watching the stars through his telescope and tending to the bonfire. Tim built model rockets with his sons when they were younger, and also used to enjoy working on cars and has "learned" to love cats. A memorial service to celebrate Tim's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 21st at the First Presbyterian Church, Battle Creek.
