Timothy James Beamesderfer, 39, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on his own terms on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Also known lovingly as "Timmy," "Beam," or simply "Tim," he was the son of Brian and Annette (Damato) Beamesderfer, and Gale Enck. Tim was born and raised in Myerstown, PA and was a graduate of ELCO High School.
Tim served in the United States Air Force as a proud Cargo and Bomber Aircraft Maintainer, retiring one month ago as a Technical Sergeant after 20 years of dedicated service. When Tim entered the Air Force, his first assignment was working on the C-130H at Dyess Air Force Base. His first Permanent Change of Station was to Minot AFB, North Dakota, where he worked on his "dream bird," the B-52H Stratofortress. During this time, he met his wife, Shanyce, and they were married in August of 2015. It was here he had his first daughter, Eden. After several years at Minot AFB, Tim (and his family) moved to Ellsworth AFB, in South Dakota. He continued his service as a Crew Chief on the B-1B Lancer, working alongside his airmen on the hardest of days. In addition to several deployments, He finished his career with two unique and ultimately special assignments; in the 28th AMXS Support section, where he mentored and inadvertently supported some of his most beloved airmen; and as a Museum Curator at the Ellsworth Air and Space Museum; where his love of planes, history, and service ultimately culminated. After welcoming his second daughter and little miracle, Callie (named after his Grandfather), Tim relocated back to Pennsylvania in 2023 with his family to prepare for his retirement. He was an avid fan of U.S. History, including living history reenactments with the Weiser Battallion. His wealth of knowledge warmed many hearts with his seemingly endless range of facts about anything. Tim was a unique spirit with an irreplaceable love for his wife and daughters.
In addition to his family, he held a special space for many of his fellow servicemembers--especially the young, new, and struggling--and would want them to know how much he loved them all. Tim left a smile on the faces of all who met him; whether it was his youngest child, his wife, a new airman, a neighbor, or an old Vietnam Veteran standing in line. Tim saw worth in every airman he met, and never gave up on them. He would think about those he had lost touch with, but jump with delight to reconnect and find them successful and doing well in life. The greatest honor to Tim's memory is to know that your life is worth living, and that if you are having any fleeting thoughts of suicide--to call the Suicide & Crisis Line, 988. Veterans can select option 1. Of similar importance, if you are concerned about someone else, or sense any warning signs, you can call 988 for your loved one.
Left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Shanyce (Knox) Beamesderfer; daughters, Eden and Callie Beamesderfer; parents, Brian and Annette Beamesderfer, and Gale Enck; brother, Aaron Beamesderfer; grandmother, Bonita Beamesderfer; grandfather, Robert, husband of Fran Enck; a nephew, nieces, uncles, aunts, in-laws, and many young cousins who loved him dearly. He leaves to mourn countless friends, family, and past and present members of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Loretta Peters and Calvin "Callie" Beamesderfer, as well as numerous brothers and sisters in arms who were fighting battles both inside and out.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 23, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Friedens Lutheran Church, 301 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Inurnment with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A meal will be served at 3 p.m. at the church pavilion.

My first memory of Tim was shooting at the cowboy shoots. My husband always enjoyed talking to him as, for his age, he had a wealth of information when it came to guns but was always willing to learn more. So easy to get along with and admired by so many people. He will be missed but not forgotten. RIP Tim
