Timothy "Scott" Becnel

Timothy "Scott" Becnel, 48, a native of Vacherie and resident of Chackbay, LA passed away on July 17, 2013. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux, LA and on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 8:00 AM till funeral time at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chackbay, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery He is survived by his wife, Terrie Gros Becnel; children, Layne Becnel and Whitney Becnel; parents, Leroy and Ruth Martinez Becnel; brother, Duane Becnel and wife Stephanie; sisters, Rachael Bourgeios and husband Larris, Angel Becnel and husband Wilson; maternal grandmother, Frances Martinez; numerous nieces, nephews; beloved pets, Buster Brown and Charlie Brown. Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Valley Martinez; paternal grandparents, Amelus Becnel and wife Leona Stein Becnel. He was a long time employee of Dow Chemical/Union Carbide in St. Charles Parish. He was a mentor to his family and friends. He was a caring person, always willing to help anyone that his path crossed whether it was a friend, neighbor or a stranger on the street. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
