As a young man Tim started his long and storied career in the marine industry at Family Boating building boats and later Munson Marine. In 1989, Tim transitioned to self-employment as a full-service marine technology and repair specialist and founded Tim's Mobile Marine. This enabled him to spend his days on the water and more importantly enabled him to be his own boss. He quickly established a reputation as one of Chicagoland's finest marine specialists. Friends and clients often called him an "artist" for his work and his ability to repair and diagnose any and all issues on a boat or yacht. In 1996, Tim managed New Port Cove Marina in Antioch, IL. Here, he built new business relationships and made many friends. Again, making a living and providing for his family by doing what he loved. After several years, Tim returned to working for himself full time, renaming his business to Speedy Service. Here, many old customers welcomed him back while also establishing a whole new list of clientele. From there, Tim provided another 22 years to the marine industry by working on boats across the country.
Tim and Janet were married July 10, 1997, by Supreme Court Justice Freeman at a private ceremony in his Chicago office, and later celebrated with friends and family at New Port Cove Marina. Tim and Janet truly enjoyed boating together and spent their summers boating with their kids and grandkids. As Janet often says, "He could make any boat dance on the water." In 2022, they took their boat, "Janet's Joy & Tim's Too" on a trip of a lifetime traveling The Great Lakes, Tim expressed this trip was a highlight of his life.
Tim's passion was boating and he loved sharing it with his family and friends. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved being a grandpa. He was very much loved and will be truly missed.
