Mr. Timothy J. Blalock

Blalock, Timothy J. - Age 63 of Mount Dora, FL. Passed away October 8, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends at Vitas Inpatient Unit, Winter Garden, FL. He is the loving husband of Diane L. Blalock for 34 years, and is predeceased by his father, Glenwood G. Blalock. Survivors include his mother Doris Blalock; a brother, Glen Blalock; three nieces Kimberly, Natalie, and April. He is also survived by many relatives and friends. Mr. Blalock was the proud owner of Blalock Foliage. As a pioneer, Tim started the first foliage brokerage business in Apopka FL at the age of 19. He made quite an impact as an honest business man, insisting on quality and consistency, which led him to success and superiority in the foliage industry. He earned respect from his customers, fellow brokers, and loyalty from all his numerous suppliers, vendors, and growers. The business was truly his passion and "baby" for 44 years! Tim was a 1967 graduate of Apopka Memorial High School. He enjoyed boating, cruising, attending concerts, playing blackjack, and listening to Jimmy Buffet, Tim's favorite artist. Tim was extremely generous to those in need, whether it was friend or stranger. He was a mentor to several people providing funding for entrepreneurship, education, housing, and transportation, because he wholeheartedly believed in those people and their potential. He never hesitated to help someone through a personal or financial hardship. Tim loved animals with many pets over the years and will be sorely missed by his snuggly dachshund Oscar. He was a unique wonderful man loved by many whose good deeds will never be forgotten. A celebration of Tim's life will be held Saturday, October 13, 1pm at Grace Pointe Church, Lester Rd. Apopka FL.
