I'm not exactly sure how I met Tim but somehow I got an invite to his house for the purpose of making music. It was the summer before my first year in high school. I was 13 at the time. Tim had already completed his freshman year at Salpointe in Tucson Arizona and was already very accomplished on his guitar. I set up my white marine pearl Slingerland drum kit next to Tims amp on his back porch. It was a beauty of a day and his porch was filled with the aroma of Honeysuckle. Tim started playing his guitar, I joined in and it was magic! We played all day! Later Tim called Mike Stearns and he came over, then Jim Staples came over and that was it....we had a band! Our first! That day was so special that every time I smell Honeysuckle it brings me right back to that amazing day. We were a surf music oriented band which was popular back then. We started gigging and eventually found management (Dan Peters and Dan'l Gates - Splitsound Agency). We later added Jim Jewel on bass to our group. We recorded a couple of original songs (on the Moxie label) at Copper State Studio (long gone now) on W. Broadway in Tucson and our songs got much local airplay. We began "warming up" some of the big name rock bands that came to Tucson for concerts. Paul Revere and the Raiders, Van Morrison (Them), The Lovin' Spoonful and many others. Imagine the excitement for us 13 to 15 year olds! AS life would have it our plans eventually took us all in different directions. The bonds that we made back then however remained. They are special and golden....those friendships never go away regardless of time and distance. I feel that today and always will. Rest in Peace my dear friend and brother Tim.

I was in Tim´s first band in Tucson. I had the honor mixing a song with Tim that he asked for my contribution.
After so many years I have been left with a small hole in my soul. We will all miss you and send you light.
