Timothy L. Cureton, 66, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 in Portland, Oregon. He was born on January 11, 1959, in Salem, Oregon, to Leon and Laurie (Love) Cureton.
Tim grew up in the North Santiam and Marion areas and graduated from Cascade High School in 1977. A tremendous athlete, Tim was well-known for his talent on the baseball field, where his skill and competitive spirit made him a standout player and teammate.
As the firstborn, Tim shared a special bond with his younger sisters, Gina and Cindy. Together, they made countless cherished memories during family camping trips, where hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities became lifelong passions.
Tim began a sales career with Kirby Vacuums, and later worked as a technician at Vacuum World for 15 years, where he was known for his technical skill and friendly, dependable nature. After a well-earned retirement, he continued to enjoy his passion of spending time in outdoor endeavors. Whether casting a line in the river, bow hunting, or visiting a longtime friend in Kentucky, Tim found joy in good company and natural surroundings.
Like his father, Tim was a true jokester, who was known for his dry sense of humor and quick wit. He had an easy laugh and a way of bringing that laughter to those around him. Tim was also an avid sports fan and loved watching sports of all kinds, always ready to talk stats.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Leon Cureton, and grandparents, Orval and Gladys Love, and Jessie and Revella Cureton. He is survived by his loving mother, Laurie Cureton; sisters Gina (Tom) Suing and Cindy Cureton; children Adam Leon Cureton, Anthony Cureton, and Danielle Cureton; and three cherished granddaughters.
A private family service will be held at Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. A celebration of Tim’s life will be planned for a future date, where family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and fond memories of a life well-lived.
