As a youngster I met Tod through my dad, Gene Akre. What a wonderful inspiration Tod was to me at that time. What a joy it was to then meet him over time. How great it was to hear my dad speak of Tod with such enthusiasm over the years. Tod was one of a kind, a great man.

Thanks to Erie kin, news of Tod´s passing has reached me at my home in Switzerland. How I cherish the memory of the affectionate visit I had with him following the funeral of my dad, and good friend of Bill W., Gene Akre. Dad described in glowing terms his close friendship with Tod, whom he treated as a son. I, too, had the good fortune to benefit from Tod´s "words of wisdom" before returning home following Dad´s wake in October 1995. To Tod´s family and friends, I share your delight in his life well lived!
