Timothy Ferguson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 2, 2025.
Timothy Lester Ferguson, Jr. affectionately known as "Tim," passed away on October 1, 2025, at Trinity West Hospital after a courageous battle with renal cancer. He was 45 years old.

Born on January 10, 1980, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Tim graduated from East Palestine High School. He was an exceptional cook who shared his culinary talents at various establishments throughout his life.

A true diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Tim lived for football season. While he was fortunate enough to attend a few games in person, he preferred watching most of them from the comfort of his living room, where he could shout at the television over a "terrible call," jump up to cheer when the game went his way, and celebrate every win as if he were right there on the field. Preseason football was his guilty pleasure, and he loved to remind everyone with a grin that "preseason doesn't count." Steelers Sundays weren't just games to Tim; they were events filled with passion, laughter, and plenty of colorful commentary.

The greatest joy of Tim's life, however, was being a father to his son, Ethan. He poured his whole heart into raising him, and the bond they shared was unbreakable. Whether it was cheering on the Steelers together, laughing over inside jokes, or simply spending quiet time side by side, Ethan was truly Tim's pride and joy. When Ethan tragically passed in 2018, Tim's world was forever changed. Though he never fully recovered from the heartbreak, his love for Ethan remained the guiding force of his life, shaping the way he cared for others and keeping his son's memory alive in everything he did.

Tim was also a devoted caretaker to his family. He continued to look after his parents in their times of need, offering comfort and support with the same gentle devotion he once gave his son. Earlier in life, he also lovingly cared for his grandparents, embodying compassion at every stage of his journey.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Cleta Newman; his cousin and best friend, Jimmy Daugherty; his cherished son, Ethan Ferguson; and his parents, Donald and Tammy Newman Walworth.

Tim is survived by his beloved fiancée, Tracy McNair, who remains at their home; his sisters, Tiffany (Billy) Marvin and Tanya (John Martin) Barnhart; his nieces, Adaleigh and Graycee; and his nephew, Phoenix. He will also be deeply missed by his loyal Dachshund, Buddy.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Tim's life was a testament to his compassionate spirit, his loyalty, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. Though his time here was far too short, his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
