Compean Funeral Home - HoustonTimothy Fernandez lived a life defined by dedication, quiet strength, and a remarkable ability to make those around him feel seen and valued. He passed away leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, hard work, and a deep connection to family.
A proud Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam era, Timothy carried with him a sense of duty and resilience that shaped the course of his life. After his service, he devoted 37 years to his career as an electrician at Shell. He spent those years showing up each day with quiet dedication and a pride in his work that spoke for itself.
Beyond his work, Timothy found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He loved Tejano music and had a passion for sports, especially baseball—he could always be found cheering, watching, or talking about the game. He enjoyed traveling, but nothing meant more to him than time spent with family.
Timothy had a rare gift—he made everyone feel special in their own way. Often through a solid dad joke and a shared laugh, he had a way of connecting that left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen M. Fernandez; his sons, Timothy Fernandez Jr. (Alejandra), Adam Fernandez (Eva), Patrick Fernandez (Cynthia), Louis Fernandez, Christopher Fernandez (Jennifer), Carlos Fernandez, Nicholas Fernandez (Yolanda), and Ernest Fernandez (Amanda); and his daughters, Rachel Gonzales (Joe), Rosanna Pedraza (Arthur), Maria Cardenas (JJ), and Isabel Fernandez. He also leaves behind 37 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward a part of his love and legacy. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them will continue to be felt for generations.
Timothy’s life was one of service, both to his country and to those he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
