Timothy "Tim" Karl Grobaski, age 69, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on August 11, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Sault surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was born on May 18, 1956, in Cheboygan, Michigan, to Paul Joseph and Irene Rosemary (Jankoviak) Grobaski. Tim graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1974 before continuing his education at Delta Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in accounting. Tim met the love of his life, Martha "Marty" Ann Vilenski, early in life, and were married on August 5, 1978, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cheboygan, Michigan. Tim began his career as a manager for Wicks Lumber, where he worked for seventeen years. He then owned a bath and kitchen shop, which he successfully ran for six years. Tim later became a sales representative for Quikrete at Cheboygan Cement Products, Inc., retiring in July of 2021. Tim was a dedicated and active member of his community throughout the years, including memberships with the local Elks Club and CC Hall, as well as serving on the City Zoning Board of Appeals. Tim's greatest passion was the cabin he and Marty built on McNearney Lake. There, he could enjoy his love of woodworking and home improvement projects, ranging from birdhouses to home remodels. He also served on the McNearney Lake Property Owners Association for several years. As an outdoor enthusiast, he loved hunting, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, bird watching, and 4-wheeling. Tim will be remembered for his hard work, and his absolute love for his family, friends, and pets. Tim is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Martha; daughters, Amanda Rae (Ethan) Nayback of Marne, Michigan, and Lauren Kay (Joseph Cox Jr.) Grobaski of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, Kyron Nayback and Rhys Nayback; sisters, Rosalie "Penny" Carlson of Melbourne Beach, Florida, and Mary "Bunny" Bohn of Cheboygan, Michigan; brother, Dean Grobaski from Cheboygan; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Mary) Vilenski of New York, Gerald (Barb) Vilenski of Plainwell, Michigan, Michael (Clare) Vilenski of North Carolina, and Brian (Kelley) Vilenski of Interlochen, Michigan; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Irene Grobaski; brother, Paul Douglas Grobaski; and brothers-in-law, Barry Carlson and Melvin Bohn. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Tim's wish was for everyone to hug their loved ones, tell them you love them, invite a friend to dinner, or check in on them just to say "hi".
