Timothy P. Hunkins

Timothy P. Hunkins of the Town of Ottawa passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the age of 75. He was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on October 26, 1948, the son of Paul and Virginia (nee Purkis) Hunkins. Tim was the devoted husband of 50 years to Vicki (nee Halama), the coolest Dad to Paula Schwartz (Scott Schuett), Tim Hunkins, Jr (Shannon Gyles), and stepson Tony (Donna) DeMarcantonio; and the dear sweet Grandpa ‘Papa’ of Scarlet and Violet Schwartz, Jade Hunkins, and Rachel and Helen DeMarcantonio.

Tim is further survived by his brother Jim (Tammy Hennager), nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, dear brother Stephen Hunkins and sister Judith Schuetze Flynn.

Tim was a 1967 graduate of Waukesha South High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and classic cars and had been a member of the Waukesha Old Car Club for decades. He was known for his big heart, quick wit, sense of humor, and his love for family and friends. 

He will be sorely missed and remembered always.

A ‘short and sweet’ memorial service honoring Tim's life followed by military honors will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 1:00PM at the Delafield Fish Hatchery Building, 425 Main Street, Delafield WI 53018. Following the memorial service, a celebration of life will take place from 1:30PM until 4:00PM, also at the Fish Hatchery.
