Timothy Mackey Obituary

The deer stand, the highway, and the firepit all got a little more lonesome on July 9, 2023. Everyone's friend, Timothy Wayne Mackey (MackDaddy), finally got to see Jesus, Elvis, and his Nanny on that day, but maybe not in that particular order. And, when we say "everyone's friend", we mean it. He was born and raised in Greenville and knew at least 70% of the people in it. Tim never met a stranger. He was the guy who would walk into a room not knowing anyone and by the time he left, he'd have at least three new best friends.
Tim lived his life the way we should all strive to live ours, to its fullest. He delighted in watching his birdfeeders with his wife, Patti Jo Mackey, just as much as he did riding his Harley Davidson. His daughters and son-in-law, Haley Mackey and Kelsey and James Hyman will never be able to find barbecue "as good as Daddy could make". And from now until the end of their days, his mother, Carol Collins, brother, Donnie Lambert, and aunt, Miriam Davenport, will not be able to walk the woods of "the farm" and not think about Tim.
Tim's Celebration of Life service will be Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Simpsonville Upstate Church, 3 Hedge Street in Simpsonville, SC. In lieu of flowers, the Mackeys ask that you do a Random Act of Kindness in his honor. The Mackeys would also like to invite everyone to join them after the service for some of Tim's favorite sweet treats and to let out one last Ric Flair "Woooooooo!"
