Timothy "Timm" Melvin

Timothy Melvin (Timm), age 75, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and difficult illness.
He was born on May 5,1950 in Burlington, Iowa to Gene and Bette Taylor Melvin. He graduated from Northwestern High School. He married Janet Buck on August 16, 1986. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Nicolette (Oliver) Jones of Olathe, Kansas; two grandchildren, Emilia and Nia Jones of Olathe, Kansas; two brothers, Mitch (Brenda) Melvin of Blandinsville and Lonnie Melvin of West Burlington, Iowa and sister-in-law, Cindy Trainor of Springfield, Illinois, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ricky Melvin; sister-in-laws, Teresa Melvin and Diane Melvin and brother-in-law, Bob Trainor.
He was a devoted father, husband, brother, uncle and grandfather. He owned and operated Timm Melvin Plumbing for nearly three decades. He worked tirelessly to support his family. It didn't matter if it was a weekend or even Christmas Eve, he would stop at nothing to help his customers. His hard work and support allowed his daughter to go to college and achieve her career goals.
He found joy in riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with those he loved most. He loved listening to the Beach Boys, watching the Andy Griffith Show reruns and the Chicago Bears Football, as well as cheering on the Macomb Bombers. He was incredibly kindhearted, witty, and loving. Even as his health declined, his warmth and gentle nature shone through. He was incredibly proud of his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. His family finds comfort knowing his love and legacy will live on through them.
A celebration of life is planned for the spring and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Timm's family requests donations to his granddaughter's education fund in his honor.
