Timothy J. O'Connell 65, of Cranston, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on February 18, 2025 after a short illness. Born on March 7, 1959, he was the son of the late James P. and Angela (Mercurio) O'Connell. He was the proud father of his beloved son, Timothy O'Connell Jr. and his wife Alexis. He was predeceased by Julie Gold, mother of Timothy J. O'Connell, Jr. He also leaves his sister Donna Durigan and her husband Chris, nieces and nephews, Katie (Joe), Meagan, Chris (Laura), David (Cristen), and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James O'Connell III. Tim was a lifelong resident of Cranston and worked at Coca Cola for a number of years, The Providence Civic Center, and part time at Precision Collision. He was an avid Harley Davidson, NASCAR, and sports fan, especially hockey and football. Tim, also known as "TO," will be missed by many people besides his immediate family, including his cousin and best friend Jack, his sister-in-law Karen Proffit (Chris), brother-in laws, Tom (Lori), Michael (Jill) and father-in-law, Lewis Stewart Jr.and his late wife Barbara. He also leaves his aunts, uncle, and many cousins. Tim will be remembered for his big heart and for always being willing to help others. Services will be held in a few weeks. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to the American Heart Association.
