Timothy Lacy Robinson
February 22, 1953 – March 5, 2026

Timothy Lacy Robinson was born on February 22, 1953 to Lacy E. and Betty
McReynolds Robinson at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He grew up in
Kingsport, TN and was a 1971 graduate of Ketron High School. Born with a servant's heart, Tim
was a 1985 graduate from the Paramedic Program at State Technical Institute at Knoxville.
Tim served as a volunteer in both the Fall Branch, TN Volunteer Fire Department and the
Gray, TN Rescue Squad before being hired by Washington Co./Johnson City EMS in 1984. He
spent 37 years serving the people of Johnson City and Washington County as both a paramedic
and as a member of various public safety boards.
Tim's joy was found in nature fishing and being out on his boat on Watauga Lake. He
also greatly enjoyed his numerous trips to the North Carolina shore with friends for deep sea
fishing. His mother often told the story of when he was a little boy she would see him out in the
backyard of the house holding a string with a safety pin attached to the end of it, placed down a
hole in the ground "fishing." His obsession started young.
His love of music was fostered by his Uncle Dan who gave him his first guitar and taught
him to play at a young age. As a young teen, he would spend Sunday afternoons at his
grandfather's house playing along with his uncles and singing old-time hymns with his family.
However, Tim always said the pinnacle of his musical career was the year he and the EMS band
played for the EMS Christmas banquet at the Johnson City Country Club. He would laughingly
say it was their biggest gig. Much like when he was holding a fishing pole, having a guitar in his
arms brought him countless hours of fun and happiness.
Tim was a lifelong United Methodist and a member of First United Methodist in Johnson
City, TN.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister Tonya Beth Robinson,
as well as his father-in-law Henry Lee Casey and brother-in-law Eddie Taylor. He is survived by
his loving wife of 29 years Cindy Casey Robinson and his daughters Margaret Ann Campbell,
Amy Robinson, and Jessica Robinson. Grandchildren Sarah Carpenter, Erin Campbell, Emily
Campbell, Andrew Robinson, and Melissa Hershburger. Great-grandchildren Melody, Lacie, and
Will Carpenter, A.J. and Lincoln Robinson, and Allison and Athena Hershburger. He is also
survived by his sister Tammy Robinson Smith (Mike) of Bristol, VA and nephew John Morgan
Smith of Charlotte, NC. Mother-in-law Linda Casey Love (Ricky) of Erwin, TN. Sister-in-law
Teresa Taylor of Jonesborough, TN and niece Amber Johnson of Telford, TN and his constant
furry companions Reese and Zoey.
Tim was greatly loved and will be missed beyond measure.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 9 th at Jonesborough Funeral Home
from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. A Celebration of Life service will follow immediately under the
direction of Reverend Mike Woodward. A committal service is scheduled for Tuesday, March
10 th at 1:00 pm in the Greenwood Cemetery on Mill Springs Road. EMS honors to be provided
by Washington Co./Johnson City EMS Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be employees of
Washington Co./Johnson City EMS.
Tim served as a loving foster dad to countless dogs and cats. In lieu of flowers donations
may be made to the Washington County Animal Shelter in Johnson City, TN.
