Timothy McCoy Rodgers "Tim" was born July 29, 1939 to the late William Henry Rodgers and Addie Reddick Rodgers in Martin County, NC. The oldest son of 13 children. He took his eternal rest the evening of Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Tim was united in holy matrimony to the late Doris Little Rodgers, on May 19, 1962. To their union, four children were born. He graduated from what was then known as E. J. Hayes High School,
Williamston, North Carolina. During his adulthood, he worked at The Williamston Meat Packing Company for several years until the business closed in the late 1980's. After that, he began working as a Custodian for Martin County Schools which is where he spent the remainder of his career until he retired in the early 2000's. He was a hardworking man, and he believed in order to have nice things in life you had to work hard to earn them. This was certainly a principle he instilled in all four of his children. When his two brothers Roy and Johnny Rodgers were alive, he also enjoyed doing construction work on the side with them. After he retired, one of his favorite sayings was "I'm just enjoying my retirement and spending time with my grandchildren."
Tim's faith in God was affirmed by his nephew, Reverend Frederick Tyrone Little during the weekly bible studies he conducted in the home during the last few years. He was a member of Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church. When he attended church, he worshiped very quietly; however, when the Male Chorus sang his favorite songs, he would boldly stand and give God praise.
Tim was preceded in death by eight siblings, Celia Brown, Ruby Rodgers, Delores Mason, Johnny Rodgers, Deford Rodgers, Jimmy Rodgers, Roy Rodgers, and Sampson Rodgers.
