Timothy James "Sparky" Steele, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at Deaconess Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on January 2, 1985, in Evansville, Indiana, Timothy lived a vibrant and full life until his untimely departure at the age of 41.
Known affectionately as "Sparky," Timothy was a man of passion and loyalty. He held a deep love for riding his motorcycle, embracing the open road with a spirit of freedom and adventure. He valued family above all else, and his bond with his Club brothers was a source of great joy and camaraderie. Those who knew him remember a man who carried warmth and kindness generously, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Timothy is survived by his devoted parents, James and Gerri Steele; his sisters, Pamela and Carol Steele; and his very special nephew, James Spurr. He also leaves behind a wide circle of family members who cherished him deeply: his aunts Pam Miller, Barb Bomar, Joyce Palmer, Patsy Howell, and Angela Wilhelm; uncles Bruce (April) Miller, Benny Steele, Ronnie Steele, Mike (Tracy) Steele; his aunt Phillona Steele; and several cousins. Each of these family members shared in the joy of Timothy’s life and the sorrow of his passing.
He joins in eternal rest his beloved sister Mary Anne Steele and brother Ethan Adam Steele, along with cousin Jarryd Matthew Spalding, cousin Dylan David Haas, cousin Freddy Bomar, uncle Fred Bomar, uncle Ralph Palmer, aunt Brenda Houchin, uncle Dennis Steele, grandfather Jerry L. Miller, grandmother Mary Kleiner, grandfather Ben Steele, and grandmother Dolly Steele, whose memories he carried with him always.
The community and familial bonds that Timothy fostered stand as a testament to his character and the genuine friendships he cultivated. His presence will be profoundly missed but forever remembered with love and respect.
A visitation will be held on March 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cox & Son Funeral Home Shawneetown, located at 794 North Lincoln Boulevard in Shawneetown, Illinois.
