Timothy W. Thomas

Our Beloved, Timothy W. Thomas, was born on June 5th, 1958, in Madisonville, KY. He was the youngest son of Croder C. and the late Ann Suggs Thomas. In addition to his mother, his sister Cheri Ann Thomas and brother Kenneth Jerome Thomas preceded him in death.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Christ Church Holiness. In later years he united with Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN. He served on the Deacon board, Assistant Church Clerk, Chairman of the Godly Men of Action and a member of the Male Chorus (Sons of Thunder).

He studied at Forrest Park College in St. Louis, MO, and Madisonville Community College in Kentucky. As a resident of Madisonville, he represented the 1st Supreme Court District.

Tim Thomas was a Licensed Funeral Director with Mason and Sons Funeral Home in Madisonville. He is also a member of the Kentucky Association of Morticians Inc., President of the Community Improvement Foundation of Hopkins County, Chairman of the Hopkins County Joint Planning Commission, President of the Kentucky State Crimestoppers Association, and President of Hopkins County Crimestoppers. He was an Associate Member of the Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials ( KBC- LEO), commissioner of the African American Heritage commission, member of the NAACP, served on the Board of Directors of the Madisonville Chamber of Commerce, member of the Hopkins County Library Foundation Board, member of the Madisonville Noon Kiwanis Club Lt. Governor of Ky-Tennessee District 17 and a member on the board of NIA Association in Clarksville, TN.

Tim Thomas was the Founder and had been the Host of the Public Television Program "Focus with Tim Thomas," for the past 25 years. He was also the organizer and host of the Hopkins County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration where MLK scholarships are announced each year for over 30 years.

Tim (TT) Thomas will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. He was a Godly man with a Passion for Christ, a Passion for People and a Passion to Serve!

On July 9th, 2021, Timothy Thomas answered God's call to come rest in his eternal home.

He leaves to cherish precious memories, his beloved father: Croder C. Thomas, Madisonville, KY; nephew: Colonious (C.C.) Thomas, Indianapolis, IN; niece: Denika LaJoy Thomas, Indianapolis, IN; great-nephews: Cameron Hurst, Madisonville, KY, Malachi Cadasta Thomas, Joshua Colonious Thomas and Caleb Thomas, Indianapolis, IN; aunt: Ludella Grinstead, Madisonville, KY; and a host of cousins, other relatives and caring friends. Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Earlington with visitation from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021, also at the church. Burial at Oakwood in Earlington.
