Timothy D. Thomas

Tim Thomas, 60, of Abbeville, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Abbeville to the late Harold 'Ansel' Thomas and Sarah Jean Patterson Thomas. Tim was twice married, first to Wanda Scott and second to Sherry Thomas. He studied Electronic Engineering at Greenville Technical College and was formerly employed with McDougald Funeral Home. Tim was known for his sense of humor. His faith, children, and spending time with his brother, Ben, were dear to his heart. Hours spent with his friends at the Rough House, Side Pocket, music, sailing, golf, and astronomy always made him happy. He was a member of Bells United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pat Thomas. Tim is survived by five sons, Dale Thomas, Jr. (Karla) of Sidney, NY, Andy Thomas (Annie) of Abbeville, Scott Thomas of Greenville, Sam Thomas (Courtney) of Greenwood and Boyd Thomas of Abbeville; a daughter, Mary Kelley Thomas of Abbeville; two brothers, Stan Thomas and Ben Thomas, both of Timmonsville; a sister, Kathy Thomas of Beaufort; and three grandchildren, Hudson, Perrin, and James Andrew Thomas, Jr. The family will receive friends 10:30AM – 11:30AM, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kevin Lindley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will be at their respective homes.
