Timothy Wayne “Timmy” Adams, age 63, passed away on March 31, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1961, in Cheraw, South Carolina, to the late Gerald Wayne and Sue Brock Adams.
Timmy was a devoted family man, cherishing moments spent with his grandchildren. His commitment to the youth of Cheraw was evident through his dedicated service in athletics, which spanned over four decades. He began his journey in sports as a teenager in the late 1970s and became a part-time employee of the town in 1986, demonstrating his passion for fostering community engagement through athletics. In 2010, Tim transitioned to a full-time role and served as the Dixie Youth District Director for 12 years, showcasing his leadership and organizational skills.
Beyond any formal title or position, Tim’s legacy lies in the countless young athletes he mentored, encouraging them and believing in their potential. His work in Cheraw’s athletic community was not merely a job; it was his calling and passion, which significantly impacted the lives of many and left an enduring mark on the community.
Tim is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cathy Adams, and his brother, Mark Adams. He is survived by; his daughter, Heather Caulder (Chuck) of Bennettsville, SC; his son, Bradley Pitman (Erica) of Society Hill, SC; his sister, Geraldine Malloy (Ricky, Sr.); six cherished grandchildren—Harley Caulder, Martina Ross, Tyson Caulder, Marisa Pitman, Kennedy Caulder, and Rayna Caulder; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service in honor of Timmy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Cheraw First Baptist Church, Cheraw, SC.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kiser Funeral Home.
Memorials may be to the Cheraw High School Football Team, Attn: Andy Poole, 649 Chesterfield Hwy., Cheraw, SC 29520.
Kiser Funeral Home has been entrusted with serving the Adams family during this difficult time.
