Timothy M. Wooten

Timothy M. Wooten, of Grifton, North Carolina, passed away on November 11, 2025.
A memorial service honoring Tim's life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Sharon United Methodist Church, 4106 Sharon Church Rd., Kinston, North Carolina 28530.
He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 56 years, Fleming Wooten; his son, Timothy Warren Wooten, and wife Kristy Wooten; his daughters, Jae Wooten and Sallie Wooten and her husband Billy Matson; his brother, Rodney Wooten; his cherished grandchildren, Hanah Wooten, Kaliyah Wooten, Emma Wooten, Tony Wooten, Kara Wooten, and Sophie Matson; and his great-granddaughter, Kiyomi Osborne.
Tim was an avid scuba diver, pilot, dog lover, and reader. He had numerous hobbies, a wide range of interests and knowledge collecting experiences and adventures throughout his life.
In his later years, Tim took great pride in the family he and Fleming built together. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and he delighted in watching them grow and explore the world. In one of his final conversations with Fleming, he shared how much joy it brought him to see "all the girls" scuba dive, a special moment that reflected how meaningful it was for him to watch the next generation share in something he loved so deeply.
To know Tim was to know generosity, care, and quiet strength. His family will forever cherish the love he gave, the life he lived, and the lives he made possible for his children and grandchildren.
