Timothy Wrice, born on December 22, 1932, in Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. He was 91 years old.
A product of the Lorain Public School System, Timothy spent over 30 years working at M.H. Lamston 5 and 10 cents Store (Woolworth), where he was known for his dedication and hard work. After retiring, he found his true passion in supporting youth sports - a cause he held dear throughout his life. Timothy was an active coach in the Paterson Old Timer's Youth Baseball League and contributed many years to coaching the Paterson Bulldogs Pop Warner football team; his commitment to the community extended even further. While mentoring the youth for several years, he volunteered at the Paterson Recreation Department and served as Vice President and Treasurer for the Paterson Youth Football League, in addition to Pool Supervisor at the Lou Costello Pool. He loved working with the youth and guiding them by way of athletics.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (Grady), his parents John Wrice and Savannah Wrice (nee Wilson); siblings, Dorothy, Jessie (nee Washington), Catherine, John, James "Figgy," David, Daniel, Joseph, and William Wrice.
Timothy leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his four sons William, Eric (Kathy), Jeffrey, and Vincent (Joanie); his three grandchildren Michelle Horton, Erica Wrice, and Ezra Wrice; and his two great-sons Matthew Horton and Garrison Falls.
