Tina Marie Durham Christian
June 30, 1961 - October 22, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tina Marie Durham Christian, who left this world on October 22, 2024. Tina was a beloved wife, aunt, sister, and friend who filled every space she entered with joy, warmth, and laughter.
Born on June 30, 1961, to Maxine (Roberts) Durham and Jerry Dean Durham, Tina grew up surrounded by love and family. She spent her life creating memories, whether behind the lens of her camera, shopping for treasures, or dancing to the tunes of her favorite local musicians. Tina loved going to concerts and shows by artists such as Jackson Snelling, Hoosier Daddy, and JD Shelburne, sharing these experiences with friends and family. She was known for always greeting life with a smile and her favorite phrase: 'Life is good,' reminding others to find joy in every moment.
Tina's collections of Boyd's Bears, Longaberger baskets, and Precious Moments were among her most prized possessions, each piece a token of the joy she found in collecting. Bargain hunting was her sport, and she played to win, often scoring the perfect addition to her beloved collections. Nights spent shopping and laughing with her cousin Stacie (and her significant other, James) were some of her favorite pastimes.
Tina's story with her husband, Timothy Ray Christian, began at the Seymour Bowling Alley, where fate and frozen strawberry margaritas brought them together. For several weeks, Tim sent over drinks, catching Tina's attention only when she finally decided to give him a chance. From that moment, their lives were forever changed. In 2002, after years of friendship, Tim proposed in a charming and memorable spot-the entrance of a red caboose at the Holiday Inn-and they began a beautiful life together. Tina introduced Tim as her friend for over eight years, but with marriage, he became her lifelong partner, soulmate, and the best thing that ever happened to both of them.
Tina retired after 21 years as a maintenance clerk at Walmart, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and kindness. Whether spending time outdoors, capturing cherished moments on camera, or sharing laughter with friends, she always found beauty in life. Her light-hearted spirit, forgiving heart, and love for people will forever be remembered by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
Tina is survived by her devoted husband, Tim; her brother Jerry Lee Durham; her adopted brother/nephew, Jeramy Durham; and stepchildren Jeff, Lamanda, Savannah, Asa, Jansen, and Jaman. She also leaves behind many close family members and friends who were like family-too numerous to name but no less important to her heart.
Tina embraced every season of life with joy, kindness, and forgiveness, always reminding those around her, 'Life is good.' She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives of all she touched.
The family will receive friends for a celebration of Tina's life at Christensen Family Funeral Home - Seymour Chapel on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Matt Scobell officiating.
