In loving memory of Tizita Tadesse, a devoted mother, cherished friend, and sister, who passed away from stage 4 Ovarian cancer on November 29, 2023, at the age of 41 in
Richmond, VA. Tizita is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Tayech Ashebir, and her father, Tadesse Zeru.
Tizita leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by her devoted husband of 14 years, Mulugeta Abate, and their precious daughter, Naomi Mulugeta She is also remembered fondly by her stepchildren, Blain and Henery Mulugeta; and siblings: Samuel, Yared, Rahel, Bethlehem, and Seble. Affectionately known as 'Tita' by her family and friends, she played a pivotal role as one of the founding members of Debre Salem St. John the Baptist Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Richmond, contributing significantly to the community.
Tita's impact on those around her extended beyond her church community; she was widely beloved for her compassion and kindness. Above all, she was a beacon of love as a mother, a pillar of support as a sister, and a true and loyal friend.
To honor her memory, a funeral service will be held at 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, located at 9000 St. Martin's Lane,
Richmond, VA 23294. Following the service, interment will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens, situated at 13389 Mountain Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made to Massy Cancer Center in Tizita's memory, reflecting her lifelong commitment to community service and helping those in need.
