Toby Kimball Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lary Funeral Home - Dover-Foxcroft on Dec. 7, 2025.
Dover-Foxcroft and Skowhegan - Toby Russell Kimball, 55, passed away peacefully December 6, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born August 4, 1970, in Dover-Foxcroft, to Bryan R. and Rachel Shepardson Kimball.

Toby's younger years consisted of Little League baseball, cub scouts, ice fishing with Gramps Kimball, snowmobiling, and summers at the family camp on Sebec Lake. He got his start in ice hockey in second grade and played for the next nine years through high school. He also was on the FA Golf Team and was awarded his letter along with his team for being Golf League Champs for the 1984 season. Toby graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1988 and attended EMVTI (what is now called Bangor Community College). Through the years he often spoke of his classmates and what a great class it was.

Most of Toby's work life was in construction which took him to Florida for three years building houses. He had various construction jobs through the years. He also worked for the Tasman Leather Group at the Hartland tannery for several years until it closed. He attended the Abbot Evangelical Free Church for a period of time until he moved away. He always inquired about the church and how he missed going there.

Toby is survived by his parents. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Hylan and Jacqueline Kimball; his maternal grandparents, Alphonso "Shep" and Alice Shepardson; and a special friend, Jim Drinkwater, who was a great supporter of Toby's throughout the years.

Special thanks to Toby's team, Missy, Kim, and Shanna who were so caring, and also the team at Central Maine Medical Center for making his last days easier. There will be a private family burial in the spring.

Go rest high on that mountain, Toby.

A private family committal will be held at the family lot in the Townhouse Cemetery in Sangerville in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
