Tod Michael Spooner

Saginaw Twp., Michigan

Beloved husband, father, son and brother passed away on Monday, March 10, 2026 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus. Age 70 years. The son of Cathy (Pickell) Spooner and the late Donald Spooner, Tod was born on March 17, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan. Tod graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School. He married Dawn M. Baase on January 24, 2015. She survives him. He had a passion for the outdoors and especially loved fishing. Tod enjoyed motorcycles and spent many years racing dirt bikes, later riding his Harley. He was well known for his playful sense of humor and loved being a prankster, always keeping family and friends laughing. Tod especially cherished time with his grandchildren and was delighted in passing along a bit of his playful "shenanigans" to the younger generation. He also loved spending time in his garage "man cave," watching movies and relaxing. His loyal canine companions, Henry and Stella, were always close by. His beloved dog, Quincy, who preceded him in death, was once his constant fishing partner. Tod dedicated 38 years of service to Specialty Manufacturing and also operated his own lawn care business for many years. He was a hardworking and selfless man who believed in leading by example. In his giving spirit, Tod was a tissue donor to Michigan Gift of Life.

Surviving besides his wife Dawn are one son, Jeff Spooner, Shields; his mother, Cathy Spooner; three step-children, Brandon (Sheila) Kazmerski, Ryan (Ashley) Kazmerski and Brianne Kennedy; five grandchildren, Miles Spooner, Cash Kazmerski, Cole Kazmerski, Emilee Kennedy and Anthony Spirididliozzi; a sister, Jill (Rick) Wardin; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (Sue) Baase, Jr., Cheryl Baase, Shari Csesar, Steven (Tammy) Baase; many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Heather Garcia; Tod was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Baase.

Honoring Tod's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.
