My family was connected with Todd through church membership and friendship. My maiden name is McKinnon and my older brothers (Aaron, David, and Mike) and parents (Dick and Ellie McKinnon) were friends with the Cleverlys. I was a student at Valley View Elementary when Todd served lunch there. I have wonderful happy memories of Todd. First, and foremost, he was my friend. He always smiled and talked with me- I probably received extra tater tots. I don't recall all the details, but I do recall feeling like I had a wonderful friend in Todd. He made me feel special and loved. He would sometimes come and join my classmates during the lunch break, I remember even getting a valentine from him one year.
I am so grateful for his love and friendship. His influence made a big impact on my life. As I went to college, I worked with Down Syndrome children at a special needs summer camp on the East Coast and volunteered as a Special Olympics swim coach.
I'm sorry for your loss, but grateful for Todd's life and his example of love.
