Todd Henzel Obituary

Henzel, Todd
CLIFTON PARK - Todd O'Brien Henzel, 57 entered Eternal Life, Saturday, August 9, 2025, after a brief illness. Todd was the son of Donald F. and Gail (O'Brien) Henzel of Albany, N.Y.
He was the beloved husband of 25 years to the love of his life, Kimberly (Mahon) Henzel. Devoted father to T.J. Reilly (Selena), Grace Henzel and Abigail Henzel. Cherished brother to Leslie Nunziato (Mark), Laura Henzel (Justin Cotter) and Scott Henzel (Michelle); brother-in-law to Joseph T. Mahon III (Maria), Lisa Lynch (Joe), Laura Garand (Michael), Michelle Mahon (Dave Sowinski) and Carolyn Cellary (Tim); treasured uncle to Donald (Nicole, Mason and Emma), Gregory and Zachary Henzel, Lauren Hansen (Sarah), Alison Nunziato (Tiffani), Madison Nunziato, Conner Mahon, Ned and Cam Lynch and Riley, Shea and Nola Garand. Todd is also survived by his Aunt, Ethel Henzel, and many cousins, friends and colleagues. Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and Norman O'Brien, and Ethel and Felix Henzel; his special aunts and uncles, Hilda and Ray Colgrove and Iona and Lester Butler; and his mother and father-in-law, Linda and Joseph T. Mahon Jr.
Todd grew up in Albany and attended St. Catherine of Siena, Christian Brothers Academy and Assumption University. After thoroughly enjoying his days at Assumption, he followed his childhood dream, and became a Journeyman Electrician, and joined his Father in the family business, as Vice President of Henzel Electric. After several years, he made a change and began a 25 year career in sales as a Senior Territory Manager with Hubbell Wiring Device, where he was a nationally recognized producer. He was a trusted expert given his background, integrity and strong relationships. Todd was a previous member of the Board of Directors at the Southern Saratoga YMCA, a volunteer and coach with the Clifton Park Girls Basketball League, and a constant presence at the scorers table at the Academy of the Holy Names. He was also a member of the Clifton Park Poker League.
Todd was a passionate, lifelong fan of the Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. His family and friends have many memories of seeing games at Yankee Stadium with Todd. He grew up spending his summers on Lake George, forever holding a special place in his heart. He was an expert boater and knew every inch of that lake. He relished afternoons out on the water on his family's 1961 Chris Craft "Sparky," and he loved sharing rides with his friends and family, especially his children. Todd was head chef in the Henzel house and was particularly skilled with the grill and smoker, much to the delight of his family. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, and enjoyed his morning coffee and crossword puzzles out by his pool with his beagles, Gus, Ollie and Finnegan.
Todd's greatest pride and joy came from his close relationship with Kimberly and his children. He loved planning the next family vacation and adventure, heading to the beach or hopping on a plane for a visit to Florida, always taking the window seat. He was a sports dad, traveling extensively supporting, all three of his multi-sport children, and he loved every minute. He was there for all the moments both big and small, and made life fun! While taken far too early, Todd lived a full life and left an indelible mark on all those he met along the way.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Grew up on John David and remember Todd as a first friend at around 4 or 5 years old. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Henzel Family,
I've known Todd for many years through work. He was our Hubbell rep that I always enjoyed seeing. We would always catch up on work and where things were at in our lives when he stopped in. He did what he said and was a pleasure to work with. His calm demeanor and ability to smile and laugh as we dealt with whatever it was. He had the gift of listening and caring. I'm so very sad for your loss of a great man in your lives. May he look over you all with love from heaven.

Todd was a great resource for me when I first joined Hubbell WD-K 5 years ago. Always available with advice and support, and highly respected. My thoughts and prayers to his family.
