After a hard-fought, year-long battle with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer, Todd Mees crossed the finish line of his earthly life and found victory in heaven. He fought so hard, for so long, and he won. He left his cancer on this earth, and he moved on to eternal perfection. Todd didn't "lose" his battle. Cancer didn't win. Todd won. And Todd is continuing the fight against cholangiocarcinoma posthumously as he selflessly opted to donate his body to research in hopes of helping others with this horrible disease.
Todd is survived by his best friend and wife of 17 years, Dana Mees, and by his loving mother and sister, Barbie Mees and Hope Mees. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Lynn Conlin, father-in-law, Jim Conlin (Gail Nutter), sisters-in-law Julie Conlin, Tracy (Charlie) Baumann, nieces Mila and Raylee Baumann, and by numerous family and friends who thought the world of him. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Mees.
A celebration of Todd's life will be held Sunday, February 16 from 1-3pm at Rost Coffee in Chillicothe. One of Todd and Dana's favorite things to do was frequent coffee shops, and Rost has always been one of their favorites. Come as you are for a relaxed, casual time to share stories and honor Todd. At 1:00pm there will be an opportunity for Todd's loved ones to share stories about Todd's impact on their lives, after which we'll enjoy coffee, socializing, and remembering a very loved man.
The family requests no flowers and instead asks that any memorial contributions be made to the Neil R Schnipke Foundation (3006 St. Andrews Dr., Findlay, OH 45840) or to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (https://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/donate/).
Arrangements are under the care of Boyer Cremation Services.
