Todd R. Sandquist

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Todd R. Sandquist, 49, of New Britain, passed away Friday (November 21, 2025) peacefully with his family by his side. A native and lifelong New Britain resident, he had an entrepreneurial spirit driven by his passion and talent for art. He previously owned a tattoo parlor and a clothing shop. In his spare time, Todd possessed an immense and irrepressible creative spirit that found its voice on the walls and canvases of the city. He was not just "CAS" the graffiti artist, he was a master storyteller with a spray can. He also enjoyed cooking for friends and playing poker. He participated in the 2007 WSOP in Las Vegas.

But perhaps Todd's most defining characteristic was his exceptionally big heart. He possessed a rare capacity for genuine warmth and generosity, always the first to offer a helping hand. His humor was infectious; he loved making people laugh and had a unique way of lifting the mood. His love, humor, creativity and kindness will be missed by all.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Jaksina) Sandquist of Southington, his brother, Tyson Sandquist and his wife Barbara of East Hampton; an uncle, Brad Jaksina and his wife Lisa of New Britain; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends like family and is predeceased by his Grandparents Lorraine and Kasmir Jaksina.

In his memory we ask that you view the world a little more colorfully, take a moment to appreciate the unsung art around you, and share a hearty laugh with someone you love.
