Alyce, Beth, Lou and Connie I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in the Berry family's thoughts and prayers. If we had any snow I'd paint him a card - I think he would have appreciated it. A special man and a special family.

Alyce and Beth, Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of grief. Your Dad was one of a kind. He was a special person and a good friend. He had a heart of gold and always looked for the good in any situation. From May of 1985 until August of 1988 I was his right hand man at the Cudahy Kmart, and he taught me a lot. He was so proud of the two of you and what you became. Beth, do you remember our April fool's joke? Your Dad was loved by many and is now in the arms of Jesus with his beloved Margie at his side.

In 1982 on Green Tree Rd, is when my life changed. Meeting the D'Amato's. A game show on TV, pasta on the dinner plate, and a ton of love, not only for each other but to anyone who entered their home. Though the heartbreak is difficult this week, and many tears have fallen, It is the memories, spirit and pure love of Tom ( to whom I respectfully referred to as Mr. D'Amato for the majority of our relationship ) that will dry my tears. I will fondly remember my experiences with him and also who he was as a man and father. His laugh, his leadership advice when I would stop by Kmart, his laugh, how he reminded me on a regular basis that I could accomplish anything, his laugh, the way he loved me like his own, his laugh, our common love for hot sauce, his laugh, his loving voice when he called me "kid", his laugh, our political banter, his laugh, seeing first hand his special relationship with Doc Watson and learning what the true meaning of friendship is by his example, his laugh and our common love for both of his daughters... As I reflect on many years of knowing the D'Amato foursome, I am without a doubt a better person for knowing them all. Mr. Damato, Thank you! For everything you brought to my life. Though my heart is heavy, what I know for sure is this...I am comforted, now that Tom & Margie have reunited, and their love lives on in all of us who have had the pleasure of knowing them. To Lou & Connie, My trust is in you to help ease the pain, during this difficult time for our girls. They are in good hands. I know how difficult it will be for you as you both grieve this loss too. I am here for all of you.

A man with a large heart and harmonious nature is very much missed. May the sadness you now feel soon dissipate and may cherished memories become the favorite of your reflections. Psalm 62:11,12.

It was an honor to have known your father thru your mother Margie. The admiration and love they had for each other shined, and it is a lasting memory for me and many at Alexian Village. My deepest sympathy and treasure those good memories and keep them close to your hearts.....

My family and I had a few opportunities to share the warmth and kindness of Tom and his lovely wife, Margie. Tom's gregarious nature and fun-loving, positive attitude drew us in easily. I can't speak his name without thinking about the joy he brought my daughter on their first meeting. Of course, he showed up for dinner with the biggest, most beautiful rag doll her two year old eyes had ever seen. (Molly dolly - later named) When one thinks of Tom, happy memories flood in. Everyone who met him felt accepted, worthy, and loved - he had a talent for that. I feel blessed to have my family be a very tiny part of his world - just a few of the many people touched by his kindness.

Alyce, Beth, Lou and Connie ~ please know we're holding you in our thoughts and prayers. Many a time Alyce would share her father's stories, and the love they all felt for each other as a family was so clear to see. We hope your love and memories for each other will give you peace. Love and friendship always.

Tom was part of my family for as long as I can remember from the days of the Parkway and Oasis theaters through the K-Mart days. My grandmother Millie, my Uncle’s Russ and Red (Erv) Larson along with my mother Lois loved him dearly. Thirty years ago he helped my teenage son land his first job at K-Mart which opened the door to his future. Tom was one of the first people I called when I lost my mom 11 years ago; he and Margie were a tremendous help to me at that time. He will never be forgotten and grateful to have had him in our lives. Please accept my deepest and sincere condolences. Judy Rose
