Tom Finkbeiner

Thomas Sheldon "Tom" Finkbeiner, 79, of Ceresco, died February 1, 2013 at home. He was born February 11, 1933, the son of John T. and Florence Mae (Cooper) Finkbeiner in Chicago. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Ralston Purina Corporation as an alvey operator and fork lift operator, retiring after 34 years in 1996. Tom is survived by his wife, Jerris A. (Fronsman) Finkbeiner of Ceresco; son, Richard T. Finkbeiner of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Nicole Finkbeiner of Houston, Texas; brothers, Richard (Jai) Finkbeiner of Accokeek, Maryland and Ronald (Barbara) Finkbeiner of La Crosse, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Kresin. Tom was a member of Marshall United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer with Gift of Life, an organization that assists with organ donations. He also served as a peer advisor for lung transplant patients and their support people. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Marshall United Methodist Church with Rev. Len Schoenherr officiating. Interment, Fort Custer National Cemetery.
