As a former employee of Congressman Thomas Foley, I found him to be a very dedicated worker for the people and a wonderful person to work for. I feel honored to have been associated with this great man.

The statesman has gone home. It has been many years since Herbert and Tom were young lawyers in Spokane but that time was well remembered by Herb and Mary for many years. Dad had already spent his time in Japan by the time Tom was delegated to be Ambassador and knew well how Tom would succeed in his posting. Mary asked me to send you her love and prayers at this time of great loss. Jim and I send our love to you and your exteded family as you honor Tom in Washington and Spokane. The Judge is holding court in Heaven with his favorite prosecutor and favorite probono defender, now.

work with you on many farm related projects. You were

i worked in the US Capitol in 1979 when he was leader for the Dems and very few people knew who he was, even then. I remember he waited on the top floor while i picked up one of his disabled colleagues from the basement and he never complained at all, that never happened. Even when he had troubles like eating the plastic top off a container while on a diet, he was always a gentleman. Rest in peace.
