Tom W. Mitstifer, formerly of Melrose, passed away on August 15, 2024, at 79 years of age.
Tom was born in Wellsboro, PA and raised in Liberty, PA. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1962. After High School, Tom proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1962-1965. Tom resided in Melrose, MA since 1969 and worked as an Engineer Technician at Macom Technology Solutions in Lowell for many years, retiring in 1999.
Tom was an avid Boston sports fan, loving all the Boston sports teams. He enjoyed playing golf, softball, bowling and playing in many horseshoe tournaments.
Tom was the beloved husband of the late Virginia M. "Ginny" (Kelley) Mitstifer. Loving father of Kevin Mitstifer of Hudson, NH. Caring brother Faye Kreger & her late husband Jim, Jean Thomas, Betty Holcomb & her husband Larry, Lynn Mitstifer & his wife Carol, Boyd Mitstifer & his wife Penny, Clyde Mitstifer & his late wife Deanna, Judy Mitstifer and Gail Kibler & her husband Russell, all of PA. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 9-11AM, followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
